What are your aims as a team for upcoming EMS?

mouz|svetaska: Generally, we’re aiming to get to EMS LAN finals. I know there will be a lot of really good teams in, so we can get more experience and try our team force in the best European league. So we should do very  good performance to get to finals and we will try to do it for sure.

zinic|Irene: I would like to show everyone that we have improved as a team and prove that we can win this season again. I also hope that we can do it without losing any single match/map and play against all the top teams!

Who and why will be the hardest opponent in upcoming EMS for you?

mouz|svetaskaTo be honest, it’s hard for me to call only one opponent who could put us in trouble on our way to top. Pink Zinic will play hard against us I think. They want to take revenge on us for sure. BTB was playing good some time ago and we lost all matches versus them. But we didn’t play against them for a pretty long period of time, so I don’t know what we can expect. Also german teams are playing very well. I think the most dangerous for us is Alternate and Snogard. It was always hard to play against Germans, maybe because we have the same gaming style. Can’t tell anything about others, and to be honest I don’t know much teams from the EMS participants list. And one more thing - it’s the Internet. Anything can happen here.

zinic|Irene: I think mouz/unFinished/BtB can be our hardest opponents. Why? Mouz won us last month in Poland at Pan-Tournament in the final. unFinished is a team with experienced players who have to be taken seriously and BtB has good roster and since I know most of them quite good I’ll say they can make things not easy for us. I will also say that there are other teams I haven’t mentioned with level high enough that we can’t underestimate them.

zAAz: It is all worth!

September 5, 2009

Hello everybody!

What’s up with you all? Everything okay? I do pretty well those days! Time to write a blogg right? Hehe….

The time is 00:45 right now… I have to sleep soon so I can wake up too school in time. I just took a shower :D feels really good. It has been a tough day today, been in school until 16.00 then I went to my brother’s job and then I went home. So right now I am really tired but decided too write a short blog before I go to bed! Good idea ha?

I havn’t played CS since ESL Major Series Finals in Germany, I was thinking about to do it soon at any time but I have school to think about those days. I wanna fix my school really good now, I’m ready for it! I wish myself good luck and please wish me all good luck cuz I need it guys :D. But soon I have to play Counter-Strike again with my team as I seriously started to miss it alreadyto be honest haha *sounds like a geek*.

Getting the first place as we did in Germany there is the best feeling… don’t you think so? Can you get better feeling than that? I love to win, it makes me really happy and satisfied and shows that all the efforts and hours for practicing are actually worth something and pay off. That is exactly why I go to events but not just because of that, it is because of I have fun when I play and it just give me a good time. I belive in my girls very much and it creates such a great atmosphere being with them on events.

Okey, I think I have to go to bed now, don’t have so much too say this time and don’t want to bore you. You can think about anything I could write about for the next time. Maybe something you want to know about me, or do you have any questions about the team or our game? Just post in the comments and I will answer it in my next blog. …have to wake up at 07.00 - too early!!

Before I say goodnight, I wanna thank everyone who is supporting us, wanna thank our sponsors and I wanna say Hi to all My Fans out there!

Oh and I forgot something important, I wanna say HEY TO slop3 from rakaka.se - below is a picture that you (?) made I think =)

Zinic on stage

VIDEO: Zinic talks after ESL MS victory!

More then 245.000 people from all over the world gathered on the weekend in Cologne, Germany in order to celebrate games, passion and have fun at the largest gaming exhibition called GamesCom 2009.

Different publishers and companies presented their latest products though hall 9 of the GamesCom was exclusively dedicated to the world of eSports where also the ESL had their huge gaming area in which the Counter-Strike starlets from Pink Zinic proofed once again to still be the world’s best female Counter-Strike team as they came up as the champions in the ESL Major Series Season IV. But until there it was a long way.

After weeks of offline played group stage matches Zinic was finally able to attend as one of four teams the big offline playoffs in Germany. More then 1000 people were following the Pink Zinic action from home when they faced the German team of Snoogard Dragon on Friday in the semi-finals, where the ladies won on tuscan with 16:13 and 16:11 on inferno.

In the grand final on Saturday it was Team Alternate waiting for Pink Zinic already. Not an easy task, as the girls around their captain Julie proofed before to be a top notch team which is able to win against every team, especially with having a huge German fan crowd cheering. But Pink Zinic’s lineup which looked like this:

Sofie ‘nisse’ Adolfsson
Zainab ‘zAAz’ Turkie
Sophie ‘inzane’ Regner
Mayra ‘IpSa’ Perez
Irene ‘iReNuKa’ Sanchez

Jonas ‘The1Crow’ Gebhardt ( Team Manager )

proofread that pressure makes them only stronger. When Zinic and Alternate entered the main stage thousands of people were following the girls in the ESL eSports arena which was totally crowded. ESL TV celebrated those finals as well with a big show and a couple of thousands of people from all over the world witnessed high class Counter-Strike action.

Zinic took the lead on the first map Tuscan and convinced with a clear 16-9 victory. After a short break dust2 should promise more action, though the girls weren’t able to dominate here and lost this map with a close 13-16. After a one hour break, Pink Zinic was back with full concentration and didn’t leave Alternate any chance on inferno which brought up a 16-6 victory. With that result Pink Zinic won the ESL Major Series with 2-1 the second time in a row - even though Cazzidy couldn’t participate this time and a stand in from Spain was necessary.

Esportsfrance.com took a couple of awesome photos of Pink Zinic at GamesCom - here is a short preview, click on the link below for more:

A load of press pages reported about Zinic, here is a small selection of links:

Zinic wins Snogard - grand final today

August 22, 2009

Hello fans of Zinic,

this is just a very quick and very short update live from the Gamescom here in Germany. The exhibition is totally crowded today and it needs quite some time to get from the main entrance to the ESL booth which is located in hall 9.

After we won yesterday in a pretty long match against the Germany EPS team of Snogard Dragons with 16:13 on tuscan and 16:11 on inferno we of course sat down and discussed the match. With more concentration and more save playing we should able to stand a very good chance today in the grand final against team Alternate from Germany. We highly respect this team and their skill and are aware of that it won’t be an easy task. Though we are self-confidence and know that we are able to take the victory over them - and this is what counts, nothing else then a victory!

The match is supposed to start at 14:00 CET on the big stage with hundreds of people watching it. Cheer for us in the ESL arena or watch the match live on ESL TV with a top notch shoutcast.

GL & HF - may the better team win!

iReNuKa to replace Cazzidy at Gamescom- interview

August 18, 2009

IrenukaAs we announced a couple of days ago in our Twitter feed, team captain ZINIC|Cazzidy won’t be able to attend the ESL Major Series play offs in Germany with Pink Zinic. Of course we are anything but happy about this, but we spent a lot of time during the previous days in order to find a proper replacement for her which is able to travel with us to Gamescom from Thursday until Sunday.

After testing a couple of different players from different countries we all agreed on that Irene ‘iReNuKa’ Sanchez is the best solutions. Please give her a warm welcome! We are confident to show our best game with her, as we are strongly believe in her skill which she showed during this ESL Major Series with her home team Bad Girls. Unfortunately the Spanish team is not able to attend the event and got replaced by Alternate which gives us the opportunity to acquire iReNuKa now.

This means Pink Zinic will show up with the following lineup at Gamescom:

Sofie ‘nisse’ Adolfsson
Zainab ‘zAAz’ Turkie
Sophie ‘inzane’ Regner
Mayra ‘IpSa’ Perez
Irene ‘iReNuKa’ Sanchez

Jonas ‘The1Crow’ Gebhardt (team manager)

Here is a short interview with iReNuKa so that you can get to know her a bit better.

What were your thoughts when you heard to play for Zinic at the Major Series playoffs?
- To be honest, my first impression was that maybe it could be a joke, I mean, I know some of the girls as we see each other in all female competitions when I play for badgirls, but when IpSa asked me if I would be available to be their stand-in I was surprised at first glance! I’ve always been excited about playing female lans and I was so disappointed because we (badgirls) couldn’t make it in time, so when Zinic asked me to go with them it was like a double happiness, first of all because it was possible again for me to go to Cologne and second because I get the chance to do it with such a great team.
What are your expectations?
I really expect to have a good time there, to show a good game and prove everyone that the fact of having to play with a stand-in, doesn’t make the team weaker.

What is your goal at the event?
- Of course my main goal is always to win!

How did the practice go so far?
- Well, the practice went well considering I don’t speak any Swedish! I am trying to learn all the position names but it’s difficult with that strange accent for me :$ I really like their gamestyle, it’s the one I’ve always wanted to have in the teams I have been before.

What is your role in Zinic for now?
- Headshot headshot?! Nah, I am covering Cazzidy’s place and I think I cannot “replace” her totally perfect because she is such an experienced player and she’s been in this team since the beginning, so I think my role is just to keep the team on a “good enough” level to win this competition as they would do with their complete roster.

Where do you see the strength of the team?
- My view before playing with them was almost the same as now. I’ve always see zinic as an aggresive and strong team with players who like to grasp the nettle, and that is because all of them have really good skills to be able to play that way. I totally see them good enough to win any female competition.

How big are the differences between badgirls and Zinic?
Well, badGirls haven’t been too active this year, so  right now there are a lot of differences as Zinic is totally in shape. But talking in general, I’ve seen
in Zinic diversity and the high quality of players, which I think is the key of succes and that was what made us (badgirls) qualify for this finals aswell, even though we haven’t pracc the whole year. Also I would like to mention how different is to play with people from another country. They are quite different or their temperament is much different if you compare it to the Spanish girls (i miss the screeches!)!!

I would like to thank Zinic for this opportunity and say that I take this totally serious! gl hf everyone

ESL MS Playoffs: Zinic wins vs Alternate

August 2, 2009

The summer vacation is over for Pink Zinic and we all returned from vacation. Now it is time to go back to fun and business and take some serious victories in the upcoming ESL Major Series matches.

This game is a must win for us, as it gives us the chance to visit the offline playoffs in Germany which are going to be held later this month during the Gamescom.

Please cheer for us and stay tuned for more updates after the match - ESL Matchlink here.

ESL MS: Zinic vs forze and GM.fr

June 29, 2009

The ESL Major Series Season IV just kicked off a week ago and Pink Zinic started pretty well in the new season while taking a first victory on play day one. As we are grouped with the strong Russian girls from forZe, the Spanish team Dualcore and the German’s les etoiles that is not an easy task at all to come out as the winner of that group A.

Last night the girls from Pink Zinic had to face with the former ESWC participants forZe the probably strongest opponent in their group. As ZINIC|IpSa is in El Salvador for vacations at the moment, it was AurorA who had to play instead of her. After we started as CTs the first half ended with a very even 7-7 result while zAAz scored 18 frags and Cazzidy 17 which made them the top fraggers. After the second half a overall result of 15:15 brought us and forze each 1 point - download demos from this match here.  Enough for us to still be first in our group, check the full rankings below:

Also the ESL Major Series Season III playoffs are still in full progress. After we were sent to the lower brackets by unFinished two weeks ago, last night we played against the French team Game-Master.fr. A victory was needed in order to be able to advance in the play offs and still be able to take the overall ESL MS victory once again after we won already the last season. Unfortunately things didn’t go exactly as expected and we lost pretty clear with a totally disappointing 07-16 score.

ZINIC|AurorA said after the match:

“Last night we played verves our forever rivals BLA(dont remember their name) and as many know, ping is an important part of the game, lower is always better! In any case, I am not a routined player anymore, so standing in for Ipsa, I had some tough shoes to fill… needless to say playing with ping 65 to 80 with choke 40 every 5 seconds meant that I was unable to have a fluid movement ingame, resulting in the girls practically playing 4vs5 :(”

Best of luck to the remaining teams in the season three playoffs - check the full brackets here!

Last night we faced with  les etoiles our first opponent, zAAz couldn’t attend the match, which meant that our team manager AurorA had to fill the spot. That meant of course we couldn’t show our best game and gained only a close 16:12 victory, anyways, gg to the German girls and those are our first 3 points in the groupstage.
