nisse: In Australia!

March 8, 2010 in blog, nisse by Nisse

Hello!

I’m still alive. The flight was really boring, no good movies or anything so i were just daydreaming all the time. I couldnt sleep so much and the time went really slow. But I arrived in time and took the train, it was actually not that bad because I saw some nice nature and stuff like that. At the trainstation Saga and Emelie came to pick me up. We went almost directly to the beach and were just chilling. The beach is called “The Bar beach” and is like 1 minute walk from our appartment. Our place is small but has everything we need so its OK!

Later we decided to go to a shop and buy some food and we ended up with buying food for like 3 weeks. So we had 15 bags to carry. We thought about taking a taxi but its only 10 minutes walk so we wanted to give it a try. After the half way we couldnt carry anymore, it was just to heavy! So Emelie and Saga went to the appartment with few of the bags and I stayed and watched over the others. Later they came back and we finally got all the bags home. It took us like 1 hour to get back, haha. We will never do that mistake again.

The next day we were just at the beach again. I were really jetlagged so I had no energy to do anything else. We were just chilling all day and cooked some food.

nisse1

Today we’re back back at the beach again and for the first time we  took a swim. My new nickname is tomato, because I got red of the sun (No worries Im careful). Later Saga is going to cut my hair and then we’re going out for karaoke night. Right now Im just chilling at the beach.

Talk to you later, I have to keep on working on my tan. Cheers!

As you well know, the ladies here at Pink Zinic regained their title of Major Series Champions, they will now also keep that title after ESL announced the end of the Female Competitions in their Major Series. However, female gamers are urged to not despair as the end of Female Gaming in the Major Series has opened a new door, which contains the new ESL Female Section. This section will contain all female gaming action, from Counter-Strike to CS:Source, the tournament structures will remain the same and of course will include some cash prizes!

So to kick of the section, the Electronic Sports League staff have put together a European League, which will feature the best teams battling it for the title. While other teams have to go through various qualification stages, our girls have earned themselves a place in the league, bypassing the qualification stages. Joining them will be the remaining teams who finished in top four of the last Major Series, they are;  German teams we are and Frankfurt 69ers, and finally the French team of Burning!.

When asked what she thinks about the new ESL Female Section, Captain Mayra ‘IpSa’ Perez had the following to say:

We are looking forward to it!!!

Stay tuned to myZINIC.com for updates on upcoming tournaments and of course news on the new ESL Female Section!

EMS Final Tonight

February 16, 2010 in IpSa, Julie, News, iReNuKa, inzane, zAAz by Seb Webster

Tonight, after many reschedules, the girls will undergo their final challenge in the ESL Major Series. They will be defending their title against the German team of we are, who throughout the tournament have not lost a map. Similarly, the Pink Zinic ladies have also not dropped a map, so the game will definitely decide the better team and also, champions.

Like before, the game will be played in a best of three format, the three maps to be played will be de_dust2 (we are choice), de_nuke (Pink Zinic choice) and the deciding map will be de_train.

Pre-Match Statement from Pink Zinic:

“Woah, we made it pretty far and put a lot of effort so far in this Major Series season. Coming so far, you get of course even more hungry for the victory then you are already and we really went to take the victory in this match - it shall be exciting!”

nisse: Australia here I come!

February 12, 2010 in blog, nisse by Nisse

nisseHello everybody!

Somebody’s missing me? ;P Well, here comes an update for what happens in my life since I stopped playing counter-strike. I’ve just been working and working at fabulous McDonalds! hehe :) And now I felt for a change, so I decided to travel down to Australia and visit two friends that have been living and working there for more than one year already. I will leave 14 February and stay there for 2½ month. I’ve got a Working Holiday Visa now so I will try to find a job down there. And when I’m back home I will work at the lovely Zoo Kolmården that opens 1 May this summer too! So that’s how my plans looks like atm.. I will update you more during my trip, and if you are interested I will give you pretty many! If not, you will see them anyway ;)

Okey, So.. The only thing that I know will happen there now is that we will stay in New Castle first of all. So when I arrive I have to catch the train, it takes 3 hours. I calculated how many hours I will be travelling for from I leave my home till I arrive in New Castle, it takes 36 hours! Sucks, but it will be worth it! My friends know a guy there so we will stay at his place for free as long as everything works out. That’s nice! New Castle is not too far away from Sydney. Sydney is one of my biggest “must” there. If you have any suggestions of what there is to see, please let me know!

That’s it for now! Thanks for reading and you will hear from me soon again!

IpSa Interview

February 9, 2010 in IpSa, interview by Seb Webster

ipsa http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2579/4163790672_3f354a0b97.jpgThe Pink Zinic girls have been on a role lately as they managed to make it through to the ESL Major Series Finals. Their bid to retain the title will conclude next week when their paths will cross with the German team of we are.

So with the recent success, I decided to catch up with team leader Mayra ‘IpSa’ Perez and ask her a few questions. The interview explores what Mayra thinks about the upcoming ESWC as well as the recent EMS form.

Tell us about yourself, what is your role amongst the team?
Well, my name is Mayra Perez. Im 22 years old. Im a competitive, stuborn and honest person. My role among this team is to be ingame leader. I call the tactics and try to do my best while doin it! I am a really pushy person so I always try to push this team to be its best. I also try to organize small stuff among us that needs to be fixed.

Before we delve into your Major Series success, what are your thoughts about the upcoming ESWC tournament in France this year?
Im pretty happy about ESWC France this year! Really looking forward to it. There will probably be A LOT of female teams attending this tournament to try to get the money AND the title. So me and the team are really looking forward to this event! Its so awesome that the money is really high this year. That will attract female-teams all over the world.

With the tournament having a prestigious reputation, there will be many teams there battling it out for the title, are you excited about competing against new opponents such as SK-Gaming?
Last time when I was at ESWC Masters and ESWC Finals 2008, we did play against SK-gaming. It was pretty even, all of the times. Or thats atleast how I try to remember it. This time we got a whole new different lineup. With basicly two different players. They make a really big differens in the team, specially mentally. We won over sk-gaming in 2008 Masters-final and back then we where pretty new and hungry but it didnt go all the way in the ESWC Finals. That was two years ago and we have changed and I think we are better and hungry again to meat opponents that we rearly play against.

You beat mousesports in the Quarter-Finals, which meant you got revenge after the Pan European Tournament in Poland a few months ago. What has changed since then enabling you to defeat them and why?
ipsa1There can be A LOT of different reasons why they won over us in Pan-european tournament but the biggest reason I think was that they changed two players. They got hungry and young blood in their team. Changes like that gives new motivation and they probably remember how we play. I have recently started to notice a lot of teams playing the way we do. And its pretty hard for us to prepare ourselves to “play against ourselves”. You are used to certain teams playing in a certain way, but when they break their habbit and play like us, its pretty hard to anti-stratigize that. Usually because we are not ready for it when it happens. The reason we won over them recently is; they had changed one player so that could have affected their over all performance and we knew how they played. They where pretty predictable.

Throughout the Major Series tournament, you have gone unbeaten, which game was your favourite and why?
We actually got beaten one time in the group stage. But I guess we cant always win ALL games. We can also have a bad day and play like shit. If you are the enemy at that time, I can only say; nice luck! My favorite game during this season must be the game versus mouzesports. We wanted revenge and we got it real good.

Following on, what do you think the key to your success is?
I wouldnt call it “success”. But if I had a trick down my sleeve, I wouldnt say it. It would spoil all the fun and maybe copycats would come and steal the idea? And we wouldnt want that… ;)

On top of your winning streak, you also have not lost a map, how does this affect you going into the game on Tuesday?
Like I mentioned before, unfortunately we lost one game but we where having a bad day. It wont affect anything going into the final. We see this as a new day and we will try to prepare as good as we can. Play a lot individually and as a team.

Stay tuned to myZINIC.com for updates on the Major Series Final which is due to be played next week!
